Having graduated from THE LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION, in 1990, SIMON COPELAND went on to begin his own Ladie’s Couture business, based in London’s Chelsea.

Having been one of the original designers to join THE CHELSEA COLLECTIONS shop in the Fulham Road, he opened his own shop - SIMON COPELAND LONDON - and studio, in neighbouring Battersea in 1999 from where he is still based.

One Collection is designed each year, as well as the individual commissions for the private clientele.

SIMON COPELAND has always been known for the classic tailoring in his Occasionwear, sheer extravagance in his Eveningwear, and a total understanding of romance in his Bridalwear. To each commission he brings a professionalism borne out of a strict discipline in dealing with a private client’s needs. The relationship of his background team, ranging from supplier to seamstresses, is based on a history, cultivated together, of knowing the importance of the end result of any order.

Each commission has its own particular requirements, from creating the focal point of a bride’s wedding day and her supporting cast, to understanding the need to dazzle on a red carpet in a “Knock ‘Em Dead” gown.

Answering a brief laid down at the initial consultation by a client forms the backbone of the creative process. Once that is established, then the freedom of fantasy can be injected to produce something utterly special and totally unique.

Working within that relationship is the goal of SIMON COPELAND the Designer.
